I believe true healing is cultivated and quietly transformative. When the nervous system softens, the body remembers how to repair, regulate, and renew itself.
I honor the wisdom of Chinese medicine not as something ancient and frozen in time, but as something living, evolving, and exquisitely relevant. This is the quiet art of healing, a cultivated medicine.
Treatments are a combination of Classical Chinese Acupuncture and TCM, Japanese Ishizaka-Ryu style acupuncture, Balance Method and Master Tung style. I specialize in women's health, management of chronic and acute pain, fertility and pregnancy, support for chronic health issues, and all issues related to the feet. I offer bodywork incorporated into each treatment in the form of gua sha, cupping and Chinese medical massage. Come, relax, and let your body find it's rhythm.
Ema Fernandes, L.Ac.
Ema’s work is guided by a deep trust in the body’s innate intelligence and its longing to return to balance. Raised in New Orleans and originally trained as a metalsmith artist at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, her own healing journey led her into the world of herbal medicine, where she apprenticed for two years with Master Herbalist Karen Rose. She went on to complete her training in Chinese Medicine at Daoist Traditions, earning her Master’s degree in 2022.
Ema’s practice is devoted to supporting the nervous system, emotional well-being, women’s hormonal health, and the healing of pain and chronic conditions. She creates a space where the body can soften, listen, and remember its natural rhythms. She currently practices in Asheville and is also helping to develop a holistic dental and body care line. Outside the clinic, she finds joy in movement, voice, and creative expression through improv, singing, qigong and dance.
